The Upgrade item is an evolution item that trainers can utilize to transform Porygon into Porygon2. This change requires an upgrade, a Sinnoh Stone and 50 Porygon Candy.

Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and weapons. They offer an added bonus or effect while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors or other players, looted, obtained as an incentive, or even created with crafting materials. Upgrade items can be cosmetic effects in addition to providing attribute bonuses.
Infusions, inscriptions and enhancements are all types of upgrade component. They aren't generally available for general use, and are only available to ascended equipment or some non-ascended weapons from the Factions campaign. You can retrieve infusions or inscriptions, as well as enrichments from your equipment using an Extractor Device or by salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Phoenix Boxes, unlike other upgrade items are able to be exchanged and reused while still attached to the item they are upgrading. These upgrade items are the most effective method to increase the quality of your weapon and armor quality without spending Dilithium because they can increase the item's chance of receiving a high-quality upgrade by two times.
Upgrade components can be added to an item, however, the original one is destroyed (except for legendaries and Ascended equipment). Upgrade components can only be added to upgraded items with an identification level of zero or higher. If you add an upgrade to the weapon already equipped with an upgrade suffix or prefix the item will be named in the same way as it appears on the game screen (for example adding a Radiant insignia to Canthan Armor creates Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). A player can only own three upgrade items at a time.
Glyphs
Glyphs are a useful addition to any product, since they provide many unique benefits and boosts. Some Glyphs increase the number of affixes an item has, increasing the power of the item. These glyphs are available through dungeons, and some can be found in certain World Tier 3 areas. However, it's important to remember that glyphs cannot be used on a character who hasn't created a root dungeon with the same depth.
To make use of a Glyph it is necessary to create it using components and connect them with anchors. The component will then automatically align to other components or paths in the same layer. If you don't want to create the glyph using components, you can make use of the combination of anchors and paths. Drag an element near the highlighted component to snap it into place.
Some glyphs require certain conditions to be met for example, 25 Dexterity within a specific area on the Paragon Board. Some also require a certain number of Primary Stat nodes to activate which is sometimes difficult to achieve. Some glyphs also have a radius that increases as you level it up.
Glyphs are available for a wide variety of items and can be added to all weapons except for weapons of a particular class. Some of these glyphs also have conditions for example, like having a certain amount of damage from Dexterity or Attack in a particular area on the Paragon board.
The Defend Glyph increases the chance of preventing enemy attacks by 5percent. It also has 15% chance to make the Hero vulnerable for two turns.
There are a few glyphs that can be applied to tools with limited-use capabilities like the Black Lion Chest or Trading Post. These glyphs are counted towards the Combat Mechanic Achievement.
The most commonly used glyphs are the attack glyphs which boost the ATK substats of Artifacts by a flat amount. They are particularly useful for ranged classes, such as Warriors and Rogues. The Exploit Glyph renders enemies who attack the Hero vulnerable to damaging effects.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens are used to reroll a result rolled during an Action. They are removed after the reroll has occurred. Reroll tokens can be obtained in many ways, like raids and dungeons, or by participating in skirmishes. You can also purchase them in the store, or from other players. They are especially useful in dungeons or trials, since they allow players to reroll rewards at the end of the chest.
Recycle point values are provided for items at level 1. The upgrade gauge will grow by a certain number of points when you recycle an item. This value scales according to the item's level and rarity. The upgraded item will not retain its level if it is rerolled, and the cost for recycling an upgraded item rises as its level increases.
Alternately, players can use reroll tokens in order to reroll an upgrade item however this will not return the item to its original level or provide the original statistics. This is useful for players who want to reroll an item that they aren't happy with, but want to keep it in their collection.
Three kinds of upgrade coins are available in the game - Reroll, randomly generated and upgrade. Each type has several subtypes. Reroll tokens, for instance come in three categories of rarity: legendary, rare and enhanced. Each requires an item from the respective level to produce an item of the same quality.
To use tokens that reroll, select "Reroll Token" by right-clicking on the Satanic or Angelic items in your inventory. Select item upgrade of token. The available tokens include Item Weapon, Misc, 1hgun, 2hgun and Focus. The Item token can be used to create a new Item in any quality. Utilizing an item token or a Weapon or Misc token will produce a new weapon of the same faction.
There is also the possibility that the item could be upgraded into a new item with more level and same extra stats. This could occur if the item been placed in the Non-Droppable Pool, or if it was transferred to it as part of a franchise card.
