World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to boost the gear score of an item up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while other items, such as weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can increase their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases the damage they deal per second. Additionally, many weapons have a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some cases this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also change the stats of the base. This is generally a positive factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can make things impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their effectiveness. This will increase the base defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will boost their required strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it is able to reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded in addition to their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circular arrows within the menu for items. This will roll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor bind to account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor can make a an enormous difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE improvements in the resistance to poison, curses, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult areas. The more defense your character is, the more value you get from every point of health, so it's important to upgrade your armor as often as you can.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock each one you must complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and anywhere between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a large group of adversaries in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a few friends.
It isn't possible to upgrade armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical strength or the power of spells. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. Generally, you'll want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your helmets and chest armor that let you stealthy battle some monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, when consumed give the player the illusion of status for a few minutes. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded to improve their level of effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a craft table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. item upgrading will open an GUI in which you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll produce when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total amount of XP you have.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you use it again or break the bottle within the container it is kept. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.
There were some changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance, now have a duration zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item. The table of potion can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be mixed in cauldrons. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone is also added to lingering potions to extend their effects. The potion table is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but is not particularly significant such as a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying an entirely new one. It is possible to upgrade a player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the previous trinket but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Once the old Trinkets are no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This typically means the top-of-the-line items for their class, followed by their secondaries and then other gear items that they won't replace soon (for instance, a ring or cloak). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players must also be aware of their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players and they want to upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they no longer have value, and the new trinket will have an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. However, a re-upgrade is likely to cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is saved using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still less expensive than purchasing new ones.
